Welcome to the Isle of Wight Branch of the BCSS

We meet on the second Saturday of each the month in Wootton

We have a full list of our events on our events page. These usually consist of a visiting speaker who will give an illustrated talk or perhaps a practical demonstration. Each meeting includes a table show.

Around half way through the evening we stop for refreshments consisting of a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit at a small cost of £2.00 which also entitles you to an entry in our monthly plant raffle. You can browse through the Branch Library or perhaps discuss any problems you might have with your plants. You are welcome to bring plants for identification, many of our members are only too happy to help. Occasionally a visiting speaker will also bring a selection of sale plants which can be an exciting chance to obtain the odd cactus or succulent which you otherwise might not find locally!

As well as our monthly meetings we also attend a number of the Island’s gardening events, where we sell plants at extremely good prices (even if we do say so ourselves) and advertise the Society. We always look forward to seeing new faces so feel free to stop by our stand to introduce yourself and take away a few new additions.

We’re a very friendly bunch and we promise we don’t bite! We are always happy to welcome new members and visitors alike. Whether you have a small windowsill collection or a couple of overflowing greenhouses everyone is welcome to come and chat and learn with us about these wonderful plants.

Please see our contact us page for more details.
